All of those are solid ideas, but you definitely dont want to void your warranty!
Might just be time to get a new controller!

I spilled a drink right next to my xb1 controller a few days ago, and apparently some of it got inside, and now my triggers and B button stick badly. This makes it pretty difficult to play certain games as the game thinks I'm holding the button(s) down for a few seconds.
I've watched a bunch of videos on the subject and most are telling me to take the controller apart (voids the warranty) and clean it that way. There were a few saying to use rubbing alcohol and/or spray some WD40 where it's sticking. I'd rather not use something that possibly makes more of a problem, but at the same time I'm not sure taking apart the entire controller is worth it either (I don't have a lot of experience doing that).
So any tips would be helpful.
Hey buddy! well I always used alcohol with qtips!

Hey CDMXT,
Me personally stay away from WD40 it will corrode the board,
I use isopropyl alcohol which you can buy in a spray can or bottle
take the batteries out and pack - spary it down or soak it good
shake it off
let it fully dry and make sure no liquid remains inside,
and booya as long as nothings physically broken inside you'll be gaming as if it was brand new again
works for spills on console too I once spilled a whole 1.25ltr coke on my xbox and it still lives to this day !

You could check with customer support as they may be able to help, (hopefully it's still under warranty).
The only liquid I have any where near my controller is water in a drink bottle.
